We’re committed to leading the charge towards carbon neutrality and beyond, striving for carbon negativity in all aspects of our operations. Our vision is rooted in providing guests with an unparalleled experience while minimising our environmental impact. From the moment you step through our doors, you’ll find yourself immersed in luxury that’s not only indulgent but also eco-conscious.
Our dedication to sustainability is evident in every corner of our resort. We’ve invested in technologies, such as LED lighting and low-flow shower-heads, to reduce energy consumption. Through the utilisation of solar panels and a Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plant, we’re proud generate up to 65% of our electricity daily, significantly decreasing our reliance on traditional power sources. We have reduced our energy consumption by 45% since 2012.
Moreover, we’ve made conscious decisions to source products locally and support sustainable agriculture, reducing our carbon footprint while bolstering the local economy.
But our commitment goes beyond mere infrastructure. We’re passionate about education and empowerment, both for our guests and our team. From offering classes in beekeeping and organic farming to promoting sustainable practices in Mary’s Organic Garden, located right on our resort, we strive to inspire others to adopt greener lifestyles. By sharing our knowledge and experiences, we hope to spark meaningful change that extends far beyond the walls of our resort.
Innovative initiatives like our waste-free Treehouse, the removal of plastic bottles and installation of hydration, and the addition of six electric vehicle chargers reflect our dedication to sustainability on a practical level. Achieving the Gold Standard in the fifty shades greener program and obtaining certifications from respected organisations like the IOA and NIHBS further demonstrate our unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship.
