10 Things to do in Adare

Féile na Máighe, Adare Village, Co. Limerick

‘Féile na Máighe’ will be held in Adare Village, Co. Limerick, Friday 25th May to Sunday 27th May 2012. This is a revival of a festival that was held in the early 70’s and celebrated the poets of the Maigue, featuring Adare, Croom and Bruree.

The upcoming Féile na Máighe celebrates our unique culture and history with a diverse program, officially opened by Michael O’Muircheartaigh, that includes acts such as legendary bodhrán player Tommy Hayes, Irish Celtic spiritual singer Nóirín Ní Riain, Liadain Musical Group and the Cúil Aodha Choir, originally assembled by the late musician Seán Ó Riada who spent 28 years in Adare. Visitors and locals can enjoy live concert performances, workshops, inter-cultural dance displays, streetside music entertainment, music sessions hosted nightly by the local hostelries, the Ó Riada mass on Sunday and much more. Numerous poetry readings will take place in the village and poetry will also be highlighted at all music recitals over the three-day festival.
